Hi again fellas. I'm having a really weird problem, let me lay it out for you.

Again, I'm playing the Management version of the game. Whenever I try to make a match with both a cage (any cage) and the specialty ropes (fire, electrified, barbed), it MAVs every single time while loading the ropes.

I've tried everything I can think of, including a fresh TWC4 management install- no mods except just TWC4, untouched. The real funny part is, I don't have any problems in Career Mode- only Management. In Career Mode I can have electrified rope cage matches all day long.

Additionally, it happens both in Exhibition and in The Show modes. Is anyone else having any issues like this? Any ideas?

wait did you overwrited the Management Edition over career edition because you have to do it inorder to run management edition.....

Yes, I installed Management Edition correctly. I can follow basic instructions. LOL

Delete the Mpire Folder,Uninstall it from control panel too,then Reinstall Career edition onto a new directory and reoverwrite it....Choose Yes to All...

System specs..??

It isn't in control panel; TWC4 doesn't require the MDickie WMpire 2008 install. Here's what I'm doing, as per the instructions.

1: unzip TWC4 Career
2: unzip TWC4 Management into the folder overwriting everything
3: copy in the ladder patch

That's it.

As far as specs, they're good enough that I shouldn't be having half the problems I'm having with the game- everything should be kosher. Ah well.

Well, hell. Okay, ends up I was wrong- it's not the combination of the ropes and cage together that's MAVing and crashing out; it's just the cage.

Career Edition, basic TWC4 mod, I run a cage match, I can run it all day, smooth framerate, everything's kosher as hell.

Management Edition, basic TWC4 mod, I try to run a regular match with a cage- no other changes at all- and it MAVs and crashes out every time. It hangs when it says "Loading Ropes" for a bit, then just boom, crashes right out.

Anyone have any idea what would be causing something like this? I just find it weird that the two editions are so similar and I can run one with no issues, but the other has this one problem that crashes every single time.

Quick update- just put another 4gb of RAM in my system for a total of 8gb. Running Vista SP2 32 bit, AMD 8650 2.30 GHz Triple-Core processor, running with an ATI Radeon HD 3300 Graphics card, and still- can't have cages in Management mode.

I also have a friend that's not on the boards here, I uploaded the game to him, had him try it, same result- base TWC4 installation, no other mods, and it crashes out any time either of us try any of the cages. (I have no idea what his system stats are, though.)

A base installation of Wrestling MPire 2008 Management Edition doesn't have this problem, if that matters. If TWC4 wasn't so damn cool, lol... well, anyway.

Is no one else having this issue? (Or is there just no one playing Management, lol) I'm desperate for a fix, and it has to be something to do with one of the files that overwrites the other stuff to make Career into Management Edition, but I'm at a complete loss.

Thanks again to anyone that can help, or even just confirm that this might be happening for them as well- I'm gonna start sending the files to everyone I know that'll take 'em so I can see if someone else has the same issue. Thanks guys.

Thanks for reporting this issue, Shotput. Sorry for the late response, but the crashing problem was caused by a very minor coding issue. I've attached cage bugfixes for both Career and Management. It fixes the following issues related to cage matches:

Management Edition will no longer crash when choosing a cage match.
The cage framing should now properly become transparent when the camera is looking through it.
The cage color will now change when you chose different colored bars in the match settings.
The cage framing should now have the same shiny effects as the wire mesh.

lol, thanks so much- I had started changing the code files' extensions to .txt and running stuff through a .txt file comparing/merging program trying to figure what's what, and after a few hours of trial and error I was ready to pull my hair out! (Unfortunately I don't have any to begin with, LOL)
